Assuming some sort of LBI for Hart..
No issues with him going slow with something like that. |

Don't want Hart having nagging groin injuries. Let him heal.
My EDIT: Lol, think I just flagged myself here. |

First off this comment isn’t meant to rehash every offseason move and every dollar spent this season because on the whole I really like what Fletcher has done and I actually agree on spending available resources. However, I have high hopes for a bit more reserved cap space next season to accommodate injury call ups. That is all.

Not expected to play, but Gunnarson is off the IR, and Parayko was moved to the IR to make roster room for this yesterday. |

I blame Marchand and his shootout trickery. |

Agree. And there should be. A few expiring contracts after this season, and the retained portion Gudas's salary is coming off too. Patrick and Lindblom's ELCs are also up after this season, no clue what's happening going forward with those though. |

f he is unavailable and Lyon must be officially recalled, the team does not have enough salary cap space to do so without a matching roster move -- most likely, to assign Connor Bunnaman to the Phantoms -- to create enough cap space for Lyon. - bmeltzer
I know it's been beaten to death, but if he's not expected to play, why not waive Stewart, have him make the drive to LV, and then drive back? Why waive a player you actually intend to play? |

Mind-boggling isn't it? I am sure the move (or lack thereof) will be defended though |

Supposedly he's the 3rd coach fired immediately after a loss to the Sabers the night before |

Deboer has a similar track record as Vigneault. Both have taken two teams to the Stanley Cup Finals. |

I’m not sure I would bring back anyone on an expiring deal. I don’t think we need another year of Justin Braunn, Tyler Pitlick Works hard but he doesn’t excel in very many areas of the game. We on don’t need Stewart. Elliott has been good but I think we’re playing with fire in terms of his long term health pre season. I think we really missed on Talbot. |

DeBoer is a good coach. Outcoached Lavy in the 2012 ECSF. It was that series, plus the permanent loss of Chris Pronger, that prompted the Flyers' eventual offer sheet to Shea Weber. Devils took advantage of Flyers' lack of a right handed D by dumping puck to same side over-and-over and swarming the D on his backhand. Flyers knew it, yet failed to come up with a way to work around it.
DeBoer has been to two SCFs with a team from each conference -- as with AV, as you noted -- plus the WCF with Sharks again last year.
Not a colorful personality or very demonstrative, but a bright guy and good coach. Gallant is a very good coach, too. Different style and personality. |

And Gallant took Vegas to the finals...it’s been only 2 years. My comment wasn’t at Deboer. I just don’t understand the timing of this change.

I think this firing a mistake. On paper, Vegas isn’t anything special. They work well as a unit and in my opinion, that has everything to do with coaching. How many of these guys played together prior to the Expansion draft? |

I don’t think they missed on Talbot so much as he wasn’t the fit we thought. From all accounts, he wanted first starter minutes, not a backup or 1b role. And I agree that Hart was the right choice for starter. Elliott has been a great 1b.

If Talbot and Hart are really friends, they both should be happy with splitting time with one another. |
